Sinnoh
While not the most popular, Gen 4 has some really cool lore built into its story. In particular, the creation myth around its legendaries has always intrigued me so I wanted to do an aged “scroll” illustration featuring every legendary / mythical Pokemon in the general. As a bonus I also put in some of the new Origin Formes from Legends Arceus. Omnimon
One of my favorite childhood VHS tapes was the American release of The Digimon movie. It had a punk-rock 90s soundtrack, weird plot, and some of my favorite characters. I later found out it was 3 Japanese short films Frankenstein’d together by Fox, which makes it all the better.

Gen II
Was anyone else’s first Pokemon game Gold / Silver? My family didn’t get a Gameboy until Gen 2 came out after ceaselessly begging my parents since all my friends were playing the Gen 1 games at school. For that reason, the Pokemon from this generation are some of my favorite. Like most kids, the legendaries were where it was at, but Tyranitar was a cool guy too. I picked Chikorita as my starter and never evolved it. Beating the elite 4 with a lv. 60 pear boy was good times. Bonus points if you can read what the Unown spell 🙂

Legendary Clash
Gen 3 is one of my favorite Pokemon Generations. I think I sunk over 900 hours into my GBA cartridge before I finally put the game down. With their updated primal forms in Omega Ruby / Sapphire, I wanted to pay homage to my favorite legendaries.
