WHAT IS PEARL MILK TEA?

There are a lot of names for Pearl Milk Tea (珍珠奶茶), more commonly known as Boba or Bubble tea. It’s a Taiwanese drink that usually contains tea, milk and chewy tapioca balls.

Being raised in the Asian bubble that is Northern California, my friends and I drank a lot of pearl milk tea growing up. Where I’m from, within 5 miles of a pearl tea cafe, there’s probably another pearl tea cafe. Truly the lap of luxury.

At some point I decided to make cute little designs inspired by Pearl Milk Tea and released them as stickers on the messaging service, LINE. They’ve proven popular enough that I started branching out into other PMT-themed merchandise, which is available at places like Redbubble and at art conventions.
